Sheep’s milk yogurt offers omega-3 rich alternative to that from cows
Lancaster Local launched in August a limited supply of sheep milk yogurt, which is more nutrient dense and has two times the omega-3s as yogurt made from cow’s milk, said Phil Lehman, a sales representative with the company. He explained that sheep’s milk yogurt, which is sourced from small farms in the Pennsylvania region, also has a higher percentage of protein, calcium, zinc, riboflavin and folic acid than yogurt from cow’s milk. In addition, it is more acceptable to consumers who are intolerant to cow and goat lactose and protein, he said.
