Given its apparently limitless potential to feed and fuel the world, there is a huge buzz around microalgae. But with some notable exceptions such as DHA and astaxanthin, this has not - yet - translated into much hard cash. But that’s about to change, says Solazyme, which invited FoodNavigator-USA to its San Francisco HQ to talk about why the oldest food on the planet might just be the most exciting new ingredient on the block.
